1. About Us

Northbridge Book Co. is an independent bookseller based in London. Our registered correspondence address is 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected] or +44 20 8123 4567. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” mean Northbridge Book Co.; “you” means the person or organisation using our site or services. If we need to contact you, we will use the email or phone you provide at checkout or through our contact form.

2. Using Our Website

You agree to use the website lawfully and not to disrupt or damage it. You must not attempt unauthorised access, introduce malware, scrape data at scale, or use content without permission. We may update the site and these Terms from time to time. Continued use means you accept any changes. We try to keep information accurate and current, but typographical or stock errors may occur. If we discover a material error affecting your order, we will contact you to confirm or cancel without charge.

3. Orders, Pricing, And Payment

Placing an order constitutes an offer to buy. We accept your offer when we dispatch the item(s) or confirm a reservation. Prices include VAT where applicable and are shown in GBP unless noted. Shipping fees appear at checkout. We may reject or cancel an order for reasons including stock issues, pricing mistakes, or suspected fraud. If payment has been taken, we will refund you promptly to the original method. Promotions are subject to separate terms and may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Shipping And Delivery

We offer local courier options in London and postal services for UK and many international destinations. Delivery estimates are guidance, not guarantees. Risk in goods passes to you upon delivery. If a parcel arrives damaged, tell us within 48 hours so we can work with the carrier. Preorders will dispatch on or shortly after the publisher’s release date. We may ship items separately to speed delivery at no extra cost to you.

5. Cancellations, Returns, And Refunds

Consumers in the UK generally have 14 days from delivery to cancel distance purchases. We extend this to a 30-day goodwill window for standard books in resaleable condition. Please include your receipt or order number. Exclusions may apply for sealed items once opened (for example, shrink-wrapped sets), perishable goods, or bespoke orders. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 business days of approval. If your item is faulty or not as described, contact us and we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund as required by law.

6. Events And Tickets

Event tickets reserve entry to a specific date and time. Unless stated otherwise, tickets are refundable up to 48 hours before the event start. If we postpone or cancel, you may choose a refund or transfer. We may record or photograph events for our channels; please tell staff on arrival if you prefer not to appear in wide shots and we will accommodate where possible. Be kind to authors, staff, and attendees. We may refuse admission for safety or disruptive behaviour.

7. Gift Cards And Digital Content

Gift cards are issued in GBP, redeemable against in-stock products and services, and non-refundable except where required by law. Treat them like cash; lost or stolen cards may not be replaced. Digital downloads or PDFs provided for clubs and schools are licensed for personal or classroom use only and may not be resold or widely redistributed without written permission.

8. Reviews And User Content

If you submit reviews, messages, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display that content for store operations and marketing, subject to our Privacy Policy. Do not post unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or infringing material. We may moderate or remove content at our discretion.

9. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, logos, and design elements on this site are owned by or licensed to Northbridge Book Co. You may not copy, adapt, or distribute content without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use and fair dealing under UK copyright law. Trademarks and publisher artwork remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the site to: violate laws, harass or harm others, transmit malware or unsolicited communications, scrape or mine data beyond normal consumer use, attempt to reverse engineer code, or interfere with security features. We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe misuse has occurred.

11. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot legally be limited. To the fullest extent permitted, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the site or purchase of goods is limited to the amount you paid for the goods or service that gave rise to the claim.

12. Privacy And Cookies

Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We use essential cookies for core functionality and optional analytics with your consent. You can manage choices using the cookie panel at the bottom-right of the site.

13. Governing Law And Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve it quickly and fairly. Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers residing elsewhere in the UK may bring claims in their local courts.
